The emotional aspects of negotiating, ours and our opponents with Scott Van Soye

After 20+ years as a civil litigator and judicial staff attorney, Scott Van Soye, Esq.
became a neutral with the Agency for Dispute Resolution, with offices in Beverly Hills, Irvine, and throughout California. He is a graduate of UCLA Law School. He received his LL.M in Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, where he is an adjunct professor of law. Mr. Van Soye is also an accomplished author and public speaker. He was recently appointed the Managing Editor of ADR Times, a premiere online and print resource for those interested in conflict resolution.
Mr. Van Soye has published a number of articles about the impact of emotions on decision-making. He will share his insights into recognizing those effects in your negotiating opponent and yourself, on countering them when needed, on the benefits and dangers of feigning emotions during negotiation, and on creating an emotional atmosphere conducive to resolution.
